Adrian Munteanu sensei, 4th dan, has been practising Aikido for over 25 years. Adrian started his journey with Romanian Aikikai Aikido Foundation under Fujita Masatake Shihan, 8th dan, a direct student of O Sensei. When Adrian moved to England in 2006, he joined British Aikido Federation (BAF) upon Fujita sensei’s recommendation. Currently, Adrian’s club, Inori Aikikai Aikido Dojo, is affiliated to Kyushinkan Omeikai. His main Aikido teachers and influences are: Fujita Masatake, Dorin Marchis, Kanetsuka Minoru, Kobayashi Yukimitsu, Christian Tissier, and Peter Brown.
This class will include solo practice for both advanced practitioners and beginners with a focus on the relation between hip and shoulder. Key points: posture, body shape / movement, centralise, extend.
Taijutsu, bokken and jo-related exercises are all adapted to your own environment.
What to Bring to Class
-Good disposition is essential ????
-It is advisable to have a carpet on hard floor
-Bokken and Jo
-Aikido-gi or any loose, comfortable clothes
When practising along with the exercises shown, please listen to your body: do not push your limits (e.g. by overstretching) and stop immediately if you feel any discomfort / pain. Please assess your surroundings to avoid any accidental damage in your home.
