Roppokai Texas Branch and Roppokai New Orleans Keikokai from Texas Branch invite you to attend the U.S.A. Roppokai seminar in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S.A.

The U.S.A. Roppokai Seminar is to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 27 and 28, 2024 at NOLA Aikido Dojo at 3909 Bienville Street, Suite 103, New Orleans, LA 70129, USA.

The U.S.A Roppokai Seminar will be led by Yamamoto Nobuhito Sensei, Vice Chairman of Roppokai Hombu Tokyo, Japan.

We plan to start the seminar at 1:00 pm on the 27th (Saturday) and end the seminar at 3:45 pm  on the 28th (Sunday).

Day 1:  Saturday, January 27th, 2024

1:00 – 2:30 pm session 1

2:45- 4:15 pm session 2

4:15 – 5:15 pm snack break

5:15 – 6:45 pm session 3

Day 2  Sunday, January 28th, 2024

10:00 – 11:30 am session 4

11:45 – 1:15 pm session 5

1:15 – 2:15 pm pm lunch break

2:15 – 3:45 pm session 6

Cost is yet to be determined depending on how many members commit to attend the seminar.

Instructor Bio

Yamamoto Nobuhito Sensei is Vice Chairman of Roppokai Hombu Tokyo, Japan (Shihan.)

He also holds the rank of yondan (4th degree black belt) in Aikido from Aikikai Hombu Dojo.

Yamamoto Sensei has been studying Daito-ryu and Aikido for over 28 years.

For Daito.ryu he was a close student of Okamoto Seigo Sensei (Founder, Roppokai) and was appointed as his personal assistant, accompanying Okamoto Sensei to seminars around the world.

For Aikido he started under Hiroshi Kato Sensei (8th dan, Tokyo) and has also studied under Nobuyuki Watanabe sensei (8th dan, Tokyo.)

He continues to study under Shinjiro Yokoyama sensei (6th dan, Tokyo.)

Yamamoto Sensei has been a dedicated instructor in various dojos for over 10 years and has been training steadily at Oasis Aikikai.

As an instructor, he brings a clear focus on basics, depth and practical use of techniques in training, and the joy of the art to every class.

Note: The seminar is mainly for Roppokai members, though non-Roppokai members invited by the hosts will also be considered as long as they are able to take ukemi.
