Class Description:

This class will take an in-depth look at atemi (striking) and its relevance in Aikido.

Basic methods of atemi including hand positions, posture, stance, distance and timing will be explored.

A short sequence will allow the participants to investigate for themselves hard and soft movements as well as sharpness and fluidity when the body is in motion.

What to Bring to Class:

Wear comfortable clothing you can easily move in.

Beginners are warmly welcome.

The proceeds from the seminar will go to support Naka Ima Aikikai and NOLA Aikido as we continue to bring this practice into the world.
