We are delighted to welcome Lia Suzuki Sensei to New Orleans and Gulf Breeze, FL in July for two one-day seminars!

Lia Suzuki Sensei began her training in 1982 in Boston with William Gleason Sensei. She moved to Kamakura, Japan in 1987 to pursue her studies with her present teacher, Takeda Yoshinobu Shihan, 8th dan, and the top student of the late grandmaster Seigo Yamaguchi Shihan. During her nearly 10-year stay in Japan, she forged lasting bonds with Takeda Shihan’s students from Japan and all over the world.

In 1996, at Takeda Sensei’s direction, she returned to the USA and established the AKI Pennsylvania Dojo. In 1999 Suzuki began another dojo in Santa Barbara to establish AKI on the west coast. Her group has since grown to include 4 dojos in the USA (Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Cape Cod) and one in Bristol, England.

And pre-registration is now open.

More information is also available on our Facebook page.

You can also contact NOLA Aikido with any questions about both the seminars.

For out-of-town guests, we can provide accommodations at the homes of our students, or suggest hotels, b and b’s, or hostels.  It is also possible to stay in the dojo.  Just contact us if you would like help with this.

We look forward welcoming you to a great weekend on and off the mats with Suzuki Sensei for an exciting weekend of joyful deep practice!

Aikidoists of all styles and affiliations are as always very warmly welcome!
